I have recently visited a restaurant nearby to my hometown to eat quality dosa. Usually,as we all know that with dosa sambar and a (white) chutney is provided. But the chutney provided in that particular restaurant is made from brinjal.Believe me it's very tasty. You can also prepare it at home with ease. I have requested the shef of that restaurant to guide me with the receipe. In this blog,I shall be detailing you the easiest trick to prepare Brinjal Chutney.

Preparation Time :- 15 minutes

Key Ingredients :-
  • Brinjal  - 1 pc - chopped into small                                       pieces.
  • Small Sized Onions - 1 cup
  • Red chillies               - 9 PCs
  • Water                        - As required
  • Salt                             - As required
  • Urad Dal                    - 2 tablespoon
  • Turmeric Powder    - 1 tablespoon
  • Sugar                          - 1 tablespoon
  • Mustard seeds          - 1 tablespoon
  • Tamarind water       - 1 small cup
  • Refine Oil                  - 1 tablespoon
Procedure :-
  • Wash the pieces of brinjal in cold water.
  • Hit oil fry the red chillies,brinjal and onions at low flame.
  • Blend red chillies,onion and pieces of brinjal after allowing water and transfer the paste in a bowl.
  • Hit oil and add mustard seeds and urad dal and fry it in a moderate flame.
  • Add the paste thereafter and mix it well.
  • Add turmeric powder,salt and sugar and steir it until it mix well.
  • Lastly add tamarind water and mix it properly.
  So,the Brinjal Chutney is now prepared.You  can use this chutney not only eating with dosa but also with idli,chapathis etc.
