Dahi patal is a bengali vegeterian receipe which is very tasty as well as easy to cook. In english "POTOL" is known as POINTED GOURD.The receipe is so delicious. If you once learnt how to cook it,then you will cook at least once weekly. It is a kind of veg dish that you can have with rice,roti,parathas,loochi etc. So get ready to learn the whole process, that how to cook Dahi Patal.

Key Ingredients :-
  • Potol - 10 PCs
  • Green chilli paste - 1 tablespoon
  • Tomato - 1 pc - chopped into small pieces or you can use tomato paste also
  • Turmeric powder -2 tablespoon
  • Cumin powder - 1 tablespoon
  • Poppy seeds - paste of 2 tablespoon.
  • Kalojeera - 1 tablespoon
  • Kashmiri chilli powder - 1 tablespoon
  • Gingergarlic paste - table spoon
  • Garam masala - 1 tablespoon
  • Mustard oil - As required
  • Yogurt - half cup
  • Salt - As required
  • Water - As required
Procedure :-
  • Wash with water & peel all potols.
  • Hit oil in a frying pan & add 1 tablespoon of turmeric powder and 1 tablespoon of salt & mix it well.
  • Fry the potols.
  • After frying keep those potols in a plate.
  • Hit oil again and fry pieces of tomato thereafter add green chilli paste and mix it well.Add Kali jeere,1 tablespoon of turmeric powder and mix it and afterwards add gingergarlic paste and mix it well.
  • Thereafter add poppy seed paste & mix it properly.
  • Add yogurt with the mixture and add water and steir it round for sometime and after some time add salt to it.
  • Add the fried potols into that mixture and cover the lid of your frying pan for 10 to 15 minutes.
  • Lastly add 1 tablespoon of garam masala and mix it thoroughly.
     Now,tasty dahipotol is ready to serve.
